The program supports the funded projects in creating visibility for marginalized knowledge and contributing to Free Knowledge \u2013 for example, in the Wikimedia projects.<\/p>\n<p>At Wikimedia Deutschland, we believe that access to knowledge contributes to an openminded, informed, and just society \u2013 at least when the creation of and access to knowledge is equally possible for everyone. At the same time, we recognize that reality looks different. What gets included in knowledge repositories and official narratives is largely shaped by power structures. Even in the realm of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wikimedia.de\/reshape\/en\/glossary\/\">Free Knowledge<\/a>, the stories and perspectives of people who experience racism are marginalized and thus barely visible.<\/p>\n<p><i>re\u2022shape<\/i> addresses this issue: Together with our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wikimedia.de\/reshape\/en\/programmbeteiligte\/\">program and network partners<\/a>, we support individuals, groups, and organizations in making marginalized knowledge visible and sharing it with the public on their own terms.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class='grid grid-cols-12 container'><div class='col-span-12 lg:col-span-8 lg:col-start-3 '><div class=\"bb-spacer-block h-5 lg:h-10 \">\n\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class='grid grid-cols-12 container'><div class='col-span-12 lg:col-span-8 lg:col-start-3 '>\n\n<div data-anchor-title=\"F\u00f6rderung\" class=\"bb-headline-block\">\n\t<div class=\"anchor-offset\" id=\"F\u00f6rderung\"><\/div>\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"default \">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"\">\n\t\t\t\tFunding\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/h2>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class='grid grid-cols-12 container'><div class='col-span-12 lg:col-span-8 lg:col-start-3 '><div class=\"bb-accordion-block mb-10\">\n\t<ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t<details>\n\t\t\t\t<summary class=\"font-alt lg:text-xl py-6 cursor-pointer border-b border-gray-200 pr-10\">\n\t\t\t\t\tWho is the program aimed at?\t\t\t\t<\/summary>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"my-5 accordion-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The program is aimed at individuals and communities in Germany who experience racism. Applications are open to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Individuals<\/li>\n<li>Project teams of up to three people, with a majority of team members identifying as BIPoC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color). Larger groups can apply as well, but only three people can actively participate in the program.<\/li>\n<li>Non-profit organizations are also eligible if they are predominantly BIPoC-led. Again, up to three individuals from the organization may participate in the program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants must be at least 18 years old.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t<details>\n\t\t\t\t<summary class=\"font-alt lg:text-xl py-6 cursor-pointer border-b border-gray-200 pr-10\">\n\t\t\t\t\tWhat kinds of projects are eligible for funding?\t\t\t\t<\/summary>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"my-5 accordion-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Projects from communities experiencing racism that aim to create more space and improve visibility for marginalized knowledge are eligable for funding if they aim to publish their results under a free license. This ensures that the knowledge can be shared through Free Knowledge platforms like Wikipedia. To ensure self-determined knowledge sharing, we ask that you (or your team\/organization) have a direct link to the community your project relates to.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t<details>\n\t\t\t\t<summary class=\"font-alt lg:text-xl py-6 cursor-pointer border-b border-gray-200 pr-10\">\n\t\t\t\t\tWhat kinds of formats are possible?\t\t\t\t<\/summary>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"my-5 accordion-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\n<li>Video (educational videos, social media content)<\/li>\n<li>Audio (podcasts, interviews)<\/li>\n<li>Text (essays, blog posts)<\/li>\n<li>Open educational resources<\/li>\n<li>Events, if documentation is part of the project (skill-sharing workshops, panel discussions, storytelling caf\u00e9s)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your project may also focus fully or partially on <b>Wikipedia<\/b>, for example by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participating in content-related discussions<\/li>\n<li>Providing or curating images to illustrate articles<\/li>\n<li>Organizing thematic edit-a-thons (collaborative editing workshops)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If your project involves directly editing or creating Wikipedia articles (such as writing or revising content), specific rules apply. It is intended to help you carry out your project as independently as possible. This means that the funds may also be used to help cover your living expenses during the project period.<\/p>\n<p>We work under the basic assumption that every funded project claims the full amount of \u20ac5,000. However, we understand that personal and project-related needs vary. That\u2019s why you can choose to receive a smaller amount, if that suits you better. We are committed to finding the best solution for you and your project. You don\u2019t need to know what these solutions might look like when applying. Once the selection process is over, we will discuss with all funding recipients how they wish to receive their financial support.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Informal groups<\/strong><br \/>\nYou can also apply as a group of up to three people, naming one person as the main contact for the application process.\u00a0 The funding principle remains the same as for individual applicants. Since each project is funded with up to \u20ac5.000,00, the funding amount will be divided among you and paid out as personal scholarships. You do not need to know how you will split the funding when applying. Once the selection process is over, we will discuss with all funding recipients how they wish to receive their financial support.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Non-profit organizations (e.g. associations, archives, networks)<\/strong><br \/>\nNon-profit organizations that are majority-led by BIPoC are also eligible to apply. They can receive a grant of up to \u20ac5,000, issued through a funding agreement.<\/p>\n<p>The funding is paid in two installments via bank transfer \u2014 one at the beginning of the program and one around the halfway point. Where necessary, ee will cover your\u00a0 travel and accommodation costs for tthe kick-off, midterm, and closing events. In exceptional cases, we may also cover the costs for an accompanying person. If required, we can arrange childcare on-site.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t<details>\n\t\t\t\t<summary class=\"font-alt lg:text-xl py-6 cursor-pointer border-b border-gray-200 pr-10\">\n\t\t\t\t\tNon-material Support \t\t\t\t<\/summary>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"my-5 accordion-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The non-material support consists of two main components:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Workshops &amp; Events In workshops, the potentials and possibilities of free licenses and Free Knowledge platforms, such as Wikipedia, for your own project will be explored. These workshops also provide space for exchange, mutual support, and networking with other project teams.
