And this year, it was all about collaboration and cross-regional exchange. Together with our partners Wikimedia Serbia and Impact Hub Belgrade, we were able to set up a strong and value-driven partnership. And together, we selected a diverse group of projects and teams that were as committed to knowledge equity as we were.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This UNLOCK Insights Report provides a deep dive into our co-created program setup as well as the experiences of the project teams throughout the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Insights into our co-created program and support setup<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1222\" height=\"920\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wikimedia.de\/unlock\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2022\/12\/UNLOCK-Insights-Report-2022_Program-and-support-structure.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-53455\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">UNLOCK Insights Report 2022 \u2013 Overview of the program and support structure <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:UNLOCK_Insights_Report_2022_Program_and_support_structure.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:UNLOCK_Insights_Report_2022_Program_and_support_structure.png<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The third edition of the UNLOCK Accelerator was co-designed and co-hosted by Wikimedia Deutschland, Wikimedia Serbia and Impact hub Belgrade. One of our core motivations was to explore and implement how to best create a learning environment that invites all participants \u2013 as they come from different regions \u2013 to collaborate and strengthen their innovative capacities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our highlight was creating a cohort learning experience for the participants. Through our jointly created working principles we were able to establish a safe space where open exchange was possible. Complemented by rituals and methods (have a look at our <a href=\"https:\/\/meta.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/Wikimedia_Deutschland\/innovationengine\/unlock_toolbox\">UNLOCK toolbox<\/a>), participants could share their successes and challenges in the project and product development process as well as their experiences in working together as a team.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With Wikimedia Serbia and Impact Hub Belgrade on our side, we were also able to expand our international networks and could pull from a larger and more diverse pool of experts who lended their knowledge and skills set to our program participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1294\" height=\"1977\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wikimedia.de\/unlock\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2022\/12\/UNLOCK-Insights-Report-2022_Cohort-learning.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-53456\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">UNLOCK Insights Report 2022 \u2013 Cohort learning sessions within the UNLOCK Accelerator program 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:UNLOCK_Insights_Report_2022_Cohort_learning.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:UNLOCK_Insights_Report_2022_Cohort_learning.png<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We gathered further learning and tips for successfully navigating challenges in an international and interdisciplinary collaboration based on our experiences with Wikimedia Serbia and Impact Hub Belgrade \u2013 have a closer look <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wikimedia.de\/unlock\/unlock-blog\/navigating-challenges-in-an-international-interdisciplinary-collaboration\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Impact unpacked: some highlights<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"866\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wikimedia.de\/unlock\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2022\/12\/UNLOCK-Insights-Report-2022_Cohort-growth.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-53457\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">UNLOCK Insights Report 2022 \u2013 Evaluation of the growth potential of participants after the UNLOCK program. <a href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:UNLOCK_Insights_Report_2022_Cohort_growth.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:UNLOCK_Insights_Report_2022_Cohort_growth.png<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In just a few months, teams were able to accelerate their ideas: 71,4% of participants stated that the UNLOCK Accelerator helped them to advance themselves and the development of their project.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Most valued program elements included: \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cohort learning with peer-to-peer exchange and expert input sessions; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Group mentorship sessions; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individual mentorship sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What project teams wish to have more of?
