re:shape

In November 2025, re•shape – A Wikimedia Program to support knowledge equity will enter its third year. Applications are open from July 07 to August 17, 2025, and can be submitted in German or English.

In collaboration with neue deutsche organisationen (ndo), Wikimedia Deutschland aims to give marginalized knowledge more space and visibility. re•shape is directed at individuals and communities affected by racism. In addition to financial support of up to €5,000, the fellows will receive non-material support – such as guidance and professional advice on engaging with Free Knowledge and implementing their project ideas.

We fund projects that aim to improve visibility for marginalized knowledge by publishing their results under a free license. This helps ensure that the knowledge can reach a wider audience and be more easily used – for example, in formal and informal education or for more equitable media representation of marginalized groups.
