Der World Summit of the Information Society (WSIS+20) feiert 20 Jahre Diskussionen über IKT in der Entwicklung.

The upcoming World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS+20), set for 2025, marks two decades of global discussions on the role of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in development. Key themes for WSIS+20 include the evolving digital divide, governance of the internet, ethical concerns around artificial intelligence (AI), and sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the digital era.

Germany has consistently been a key player in these discussions. Its positions at WSIS+20 reflect its broader commitments to digital ethics, human rights, and sustainability. But what exactly do we want to see negotiated?

Collaboratively, we would like to work on this question in detail. The workshop will be split into three parts, each with a different focus. One part would be focusing on the the multistakeholder approach in itself, one part would be focusing on specific Action Lines (Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Access to knowledge, N.N.) and one part would discuss the results and a future follow-up with the perspective on contributions with a German perspective.

The process will be aligned with the IGF-D community for official approval.
